As always, our yarn is 100% alpaca and all from our own animals. In addition, we have used our trusted friends from Gurdy Run Woolen Mill to process our amazing fiber into the beautiful yarn we are offering. This year (2007), we had all our fiber processed into 3 ply - DK weight, just as many of you have requested. The approximate length for each 4 oz skien is 245 yards. We have kept some of our most popular color blends and added some new ones. As our old friends know and our new friends will find ... this is an affordable - gorgeous - undyed - yarn to work with. If you are interest in which alpacas went into creating each uniquely blended skien color .... just ask, we can tell you all about them.
Our colors for this year include our always popular cinnamon and coffee, but we have added a deeper black, a great heather grey, and a super cool tan/black stripe (pictured) as well as a tan/black reversed stripe (not pictured). I have already had the privilege to see some of the beautiful creations from this yarn. I must say, the incredible fiber artists that finish this yarn are brilliant.
