MAPACA : Mid-Atlantic Alpaca Association A regional association with a great newsletter and a current web directory. They sponsor one of the largest alpaca shows in the country, The Eastern Jubilee.
ARI : Alpaca Registry, Inc. This is a national organization that is responsible for registering and issuing papers for alpacas (like the AKC is for dogs). If you are a member you can gain information on an alpaca you wish to purchase or have just purchased. When you visit this site click the ARI Information button for some interesting facts.
AOBA : Alpaca Owner and Breeders Association They have a lot of great information that you can send away for or just browse around their website, be sure to request their farm and ranch guide.

Frederick is SMVM's local city ( second largest in Maryland, but you would never know it). Frederick is a great place to live and visit. We have fabulous shops, antiques, restaurants, events, and inns .... what more can I say, take a look for yourself.
